      These are service objectives, not guarantees.

      We provide service from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
      • 4 hour
        Arrive at your location within four business hours after problem determination is completed. If after 1:00 p.m. it is determined that onsite service is required, you can expect the service technician to arrive the morning of the following business day. For non -critical service requests, a service technician will arrive by the end of the following business day.

      • Next Business Day
        Arrive at your location on the business day after we receive your call, following problem determination.

      Types of Service
      • Onsite Repairs
        A service technician will come to your location for equipment repair.

      • Store repairs
        A service technician will pick up the failed equipment and deliver it to our repair centre. Our objective is to repair it within 24 hours of arrival. Machines arriving at the repair centre in the morning are scheduled to be repaired and delivered to the customer on the same day.

      • Onsite Exchange
        A service technician will deliver a replacement system to you in exchange for your failed machine, and uninstall the failed machine and install the replacement machine. Dell will ship the replacement system within a week after the replacement system is received by them. All shipping and handling is paid for by the customer

      Please Note:
      1. No charges are applicable for the provision of the above on-site services during the warranty period, except if the problem is caused by the failure of the client to observe the conditions of the warranty.
      2. It should be noted also that if the problem is determined to a software-related problem, standard billing rates will apply.

  • Are your computer backups adequate?

    1. If you lost all the data on your hard disks, how easily could you recreate it?
    2. How long could your company continue to trade and compete without your computer systems?
    3. If you do have a backup plan, have you tested it?
    4. Have you ever accidentally deleted a file or corrupted your database after spending weeks entering valuable data?
    5. Do you have trouble finding files on your computer?

  • Five good reasons for backing up your computers:

    1. Hard disk failure:
      Modern hard disks are extremely reliable but they are not infallible. Like all mechanical devices, hard disks do wear out and will eventually fail with a loss of data. When they do break down it is often at the most critical times.

    2. Natural Disasters:
      Fire and flood are just two ways a computer and the data on it can be destroyed. Due to our location in the Caribbean, a Hurricane is a very real and natural disaster that can destroy your organization's infrastructure and subsequently destroying all equipment within.

    3. Insufficient Disk Storage Capacity:
      You might think you have lots of disk space today, but with the increased size of operating systems, applications and data it soon fills it up. Regular archiving of data is one way to avoid running out of disk space.

    4. Power Fluctuations and Surges:
      Power failures in some areas are worse than others, especially here in Barbados. A power surge can strike at any time, possibly causing the disk head to strike the magnetic platter resulting in irrecoverable data loss.

    5. Human Error:
      With today's Graphical User Interfaces it it so much easier to delete your large databases or mailing lists with the click of a button! Some of the most common causes of data loss are overwriting a file with an empty file or deleting the wrong file.

    One of the things that we harp on the most about when it comes to preventive maintenance and system care, is the importance of regular, reliable data backup. No matter how well you treat your system, no matter how much care you take, you cannot guarantee that your data will be safe if it exists in only one place. The risks are much greater than most people realize.

  • How important is your data to you?

    You can respond to this question with words, but the steps you take to protect your data are the real answer. We find it troubling when people lose large quantities of data--because they have no backups--and then they get very upset, talking about "how important that data was!" If it's important, why wasn't it backed up? If it matters enough to get upset over losing, it's worth protecting, and backups are an essential part of data protection.

    • They don't understand how important they are, because they haven't had a disaster happen to them (yet).
    • They don't know how to do them.
    • They forget to do them because they don't have a routine for doing backups.
    • Or "Yes I do backup", but when last. Last month or sometimes I do.

  • Keep Those Viruses & Hackers Out!

    Many companies are implementing the high-speed ADSL internet solution for faster and much improved communication transport for their internet transactions. Since it vastly speeds up internet downloads and uploads, it greatly assist in downloading large service packs and essential hot fixes from Microsoft and Symantec Antivirus to update critical system processes.

    However, since ADSL is an always-on technology and is less susceptible to disconnection from your Internet provider, there is a greater chance of a hacker using various network scanning tools to detect open ports and connections on your computer systems. A clever attacker can easily scan available open ports on your connection and send a worm written to intrude your network and wreak havoc causing instant Denial of Service (DOS) attacks and unnecessary downtime. Programs are being written to exploit operating system vulnerabilities as we have seen in the Blaster Worm. Using a known operating system exploit in Windows 2000, XP and 2003 server, this DOS attack caused severe problems last month with both corporate and home user systems. To further demonstrate how fast an unprotected system can be attacked, if you place any computer on the Internet without the Blaster patch, we guarantee it will be hit in less than five minutes!
